Classification and Forwarding Processor Family
Packet Classification and Forwarding Engines

NetLogic Microsystems' Classification and Forwarding Processors, support additional functionality that provides certain advantages for particular databases commonly used in networking equipment. The CFP family offers hardware-based record update management for IPv4/IPv6 packet forwarding applications with performance up to 125 million decisions per second and knowledge base sizes of up to 256K records.

Featuters and Benefits

  • Wire-speed Longest Prefix Match and table updates for Layer 3 forwarding; up to 125 million IPv4 packets per second
  • Wide search key support for users to implement complex routing policies at Layer 4 and above (deep packet classification)
  • Low latency enabling quick hierarchical (dependent) searches
  • Depth cascadable for database expansion without frequency or latency penalty
  • "Glue-less" interface capability with industry-leading network processors
