Multi-Processor Search Interface
NetLogic Microsystems' product interface solutions allow network processors or customer-proprietary ASICs to control multiple cascade chains of NetLogic Microsystems' proprietary knowledge-based processors, classification and forwarding processors, and search engines. These interface solutions enable routing acceleration to powe multiple complex functions at OC-48 and OC-192 line rates.
Features and Benefits
- Interface for NetLogic Microsystems’ knowledge-based processors, NetLogic Microsystems classification and forwarding processors (CFPs), network search engines (NSEs), network processors, control processors, and associated data.
- Support for several industry-standard control plane processors (CPUs)
- Arbitration between the network processors and control processor
- 'Aging' feature for Layer 2 (MAC) entries (optional)
- Token bucket policing, enabling real-time traffic shaping (optional)
- Table maintenance port
- Functions supported: add, delete, update, move, and copy
- Flexibility to customize to specific host interface requirements
- Efficient database updates eliminating data plane search interruptions
- Supports complex instructions
- Associated data processing
- Auto Learn function (optional)
