NSE3000/4000 Network Search Engines

NetLogic Microsystems' network search engines perform high-speed parallel search operations on databases. They allow for up to 83 million decisions per second, providing network awareness and updates/modifications, making them ideal for packet classification, policy enforcement, CIDR forwarding, MPLS searches, ATM searches and/or QoS enforcement for differentiated services in core, edge, campus and enterprise networking applications.

Features and Benefits

  • Large database support capable of accommodating more than half of a million routing entries in a single device
  • Wide user-defined fields for QoS enforcement
  • IPv4/6 classification and other content-based classification functions
  • Fast search speeds of up to 83 million decisions per second allow multiple searches per packet for more complex classification
  • Low latency for quick hierarchical (dependent) searches Intra-device configurability enables multiple-width tables in a single device Depth cascadable for database expansion without frequency or latency penalty
  • Inter-generational compatibility for added flexibility Patented power management techniques
  • "Glue-less" interface capability with industry-leading network processors
