As the leader of system-level solutions that enable the global infrastructure of networking and optical communications, NetLogic Microsystems provides a complete range of knowledge-based processors, NETLite™ processors, network search engines, and multi-network processor interface solutions to meet the needs of today's as well as emerging networking applications.

Knowledge-based Processing Solutions

NetLogic Microsystems’ knowledge-based processing solutions employ an advanced, massively parallel processor architecture along with a large knowledge database containing information on the network, the applications and content that run on the network to make complex decisions about individual packets of information traveling through the network.

NETL7™ Layer 7 Knowledge-Based Processors
Our NETL7 Layer 7 Knowledge-Based Processor family enables content-awareness within the network by accelerating compute-intensive signature recognition tasks for application-based networking and network security applications.

Layers 3-4 Knowledge-Based Processors
Our Layers 3-4 Knowledge-Based Processor family enables high-performance decision-making for packet processing in a variety of advanced networking devices in the enterprise, metro, access, edge and core networking markets.  These processors are capable of processing speeds up to 500 million decision per second, and incorporate a flexible knowledge database size of up to 512k records.

Advanced Algorithmic Knowledge-Based Processors
Our advanced Algorithmic Knowledge-Based Processor family enables network-aware routing and switching at rates of up to 250 million decisions per second on knowledge bases of up to 1.5 million records

NETLite™ Processing Solutions

NetLogic Microsystem’s NETLite™ processor family is specifically designed for cost-sensitive, high volume applications such as entry level switches, routers and access equipment.

NETLite™ Processors
Our NETLite™ Layers 2-3 Processor family leverages circuit techniques developed and refined during the design of our market proven knowledge-based processor families, and greatly benefits from die size optimization, low power dissipation and redundant computing techniques.  This product family is capable of processing speeds of up to 133 million decisions per second, and supports up to 512K IPv4 and up to 128K IPv6 routing entries.

Ayama™ Network Search Engines
Our Ayama™ Network Search Engine family is a high-performance, pipelined, synchronous device with densities ranging from 128K to 512K IPv4 entries, and include differentiated features such as Mini-Key™ power management and associated data management.

Legacy Network Search Engine Solutions

NSE70000 Network Search Engines
Our NSE70000 family performs fully ternary, high-speed, parallel search operations for networking applications at up to 100 million decisions per packet. This provides high-performance classification services for packet classification and packet forwarding in networking applications.

NSE3000/4000 Network Search Engines
Our NSE3000 and NSE4000 NSE families perform high-speed parallel search operations on databases. They allow for up to 83 million decisions per second, providing network awareness and updates/modifications, making them ideal for packet classification, policy enforcement, CIDR forwarding, MPLS searches, ATM searches and/or QoS enforcement for differentiated services in core, edge, campus and enterprise networking applications.

Classification and Forwarding Processors
Our Classification and Forwarding Processor family offers hardware-based record update management for IPv4/IPv6 packet forwarding applications with performance up to 125 million decisions per second and knowledge base sizes of up to 256K records.

Multi-Network Processor Interface Solutions

Multi-Network Processor Search Interface
Our Multi-Network Processor Search Interface family allows network processors or customer-proprietary ASICs to control multiple cascade chains of our knowledge-based processors, NETLite processors and legacy network search engines.  These interface solutions enable routing acceleration to power multiple complex functions at OC-48 and OC-192 line rates.
