NetLogic Microsystems Receives Outstanding Financial
Performanceby a Public Company Award from FSA

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., - Dec. 9, 2005 - NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. [NASDAQ: NETL], a leader in the design and development of knowledge-based processors, today announced it has received the “Outstanding Financial Performance by a Public Company” award from the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA). NetLogic Microsystems was recognized with the award during the FSA’s Awards Dinner Celebration on December 8, 2005 in Santa Clara, Calif. This is the third consecutive Outstanding Financial Performance award the company has received from the FSA.

The annual FSA event celebrates leadership in the fabless semiconductor industry by recognizing companies that have demonstrated excellence through their success, vision, strategy and future opportunity.

"NetLogic Microsystems repeats its strong financial track record, winning its third consecutive award from the FSA for outstanding financial performance," stated Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of the FSA. "We congratulate NetLogic Microsystems, a member since 2000, on once again attaining this impressive financial benchmark."

“We are honored to receive this award from such a well-respected association like the FSA,” said Ron Jankov, president and CEO of NetLogic Microsystems. “Our ability to achieve this kind of financial performance during volatile market conditions validates our technology leadership and outstanding teamwork. We expect this revenue momentum to remain strong, as 10 Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure continues to be rapidly adopted and networks are upgraded with next generation, carrier class products that are enabled by our knowledge-based processors."

NetLogic Microsystems’ knowledge-based processors are designed into systems offered by leading networking OEMs, including AlaxalA Networks Corporation, Alcatel, ARRIS Group Inc., Cisco Systems, Inc., Extreme Networks, Inc., Foundry Networks, Inc., Force10 Networks, Fujitsu Limited, Hitachi, Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and Juniper Networks Inc..  Knowledge-based processors have now penetrated virtually every point in the newly emerged Internet Protocol based triple-play communications network for voice, data and video.  Vital to the successful design of the knowledge-based processors is the use of parallel processing and deep pipelining techniques, which allow the device to handle multiple tasks while maintaining high throughput rates.  The outcome is that multiple decisions may be made simultaneously for quality of service, access control and voice and video packet forwarding, which significantly increases system performance and allows for IPv6 packet processing at full 10 gigabit wire speed.
