NetLogic Microsystems Introduces Low Power NETLite™ Processor Targeted for Cost Sensitive High Volume Applications Mountain View, Calif. – Nov 6, 2006 – NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. [NASDAQ: NETL], the leader in the design and development of knowledge-based processors, today announced the launch of its NL3140LV NETLite™ processor for low-power Layer 2-3 switching and networking. This device brings NetLogic Microsystems’ market-leading low power technology to the NETLite family of processors. The new low-power NL3140LV NETLite processor enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to develop energy-efficient and cost-effective networking systems while maintaining a high level of functionality. Minimizing power consumption is increasingly becoming an important factor, if not one of the most important factors, for OEMs as networking equipment grows in complexity to meet the requirements of next-generation networks. The low-power NL3140LV processor allows NetLogic Microsystems to address the emerging opportunities for low-power switches and routers at Tier 1 customers worldwide. “By adding a low-power version to the NETLite family, we are well positioned to capture low-power cost-sensitive designs. We are pleased to be offering another high value-add feature to our already broad portfolio of solutions,” said Jim McDermott, director of marketing at NetLogic Microsystems. “This product has already seen excellent tier-1 traction with a broad base of customers, including penetration into our largest customers.” The NL3140LV device is capable of supporting up to 128K IPv4 routes and 266 million decisions per second while simultaneously reducing the power consumption by as much as 40% over prior generations.
