Software Development Kit
NetLogic Microsystems' software developer kit (SDK) is designed to complement the Intel Internet Exchange Architecture SDK 3.0. The NetLogic Microsystems SDK includes a foreign object model (FOM) that simulates the company's NL5000GLQ, a glue-less knowledge-based processors to Intel NPU. LA-1 Compliant. designed for use with the Intel® IXP2400, IXP2800 and IXP2850 family of network processors. The kit, which includes APIs, device drivers for the host controller and macros, allows system designers to test and evaluate integral system interoperability and develop application software in a pre-hardware environment, greatly accelerating the system development process and reducing operating costs.
NetLogic Microsystems' simulation model gives designers the ability to develop application software without the constraints associated with a hardware development process. Since the application is simulated in a software environment, system applications can be developed without reference design boards. Furthermore, the NetLogic Microsystems SDK provides the device visibility that allows designers to better utilize the Intel Developer Workbench 3.0 capabilities to debug code and prove concepts without the labor-intensive hardware development.
The simulation model also provides extra tools and facilities to simplify system implementation. It supports pre-initialization of look-up tables, advanced error checking and offers advanced debug capabilities. Additional features include dual QDR ports for the Intel IXP2400, IXP2800 and IXP2850 network processors and a separate host CPU port, thereby simulating the complete hardware environment. The model runs on Windows 98, NT 4 through 5.1, including Windows 2000 and XP.
