RMI Alchemy Au1250 Media Processor Selected by Geotel for Latest Navigation-Based Portable Media Player

XROAD (Ultra Navi) MO1000 from Industry Leading Navigation Supplier Incorporates RMI’s Newly Announced Power-Optimized 700MHz Processor

Las Vegas, NV, January 7, 2008 - RMI Corporation™, a leading supplier of Processor Based Solutions for networking, communications and consumer applications, today announced that Geotel, a worldwide navigation leader, has selected the RMI Alchemy™ Au1250™ media processor for its XROAD MO1000 navigation-based portable media player. The Geotel XROAD MO1000 is a powerful multi-function portable media player utilizing the newly announced 700MHz Alchemy Au1250™ processor from RMI.

The XROAD MO1000 is based on the WinCE 5.0 operating system and offers a 7-inch digital TFT-LCD touch screen combined with a 30GB hard drive to bring navigation, audio and video playback, photo viewing capabilities and MobileTV to the fast-growing PMP/Navigation market where Geotel maintains a strong global market share. The MO1000 utilizes the RMI Alchemy Au1250™ operating at 700MHz which provides Geotel a highly integrated solution delivering the most Available MIPS in the industry.

The Alchemy Au1250™ Processor is in full-production and offers a variety of performance levels ranging from 400MHz to 700MHz, depending on the application. The new 700MHz offering, an increase of 17% in performance, allows customers and developers increased capabilities including faster route calculation speeds for navigation devices as well as increased browser speed for Wi-Fi enabled products.
