Wind River’s Carrier Grade Linux and VxWorks SMP Platforms Support Extends to RMI (now NetLogic Microsystems) ’s Enterprise and Network Infrastructure Customers

Cupertino, California – May 19, 2009 -- At Interop 2009, RMI (now NetLogic Microsystems) Corporation, a leading provider of high-performance processors for communication and media rich applications announced today that Wind River plans to support RMI (now NetLogic Microsystems) ’s newest generation Multi-core processor family, the XLP® Processor. Announced earlier today, XLP is the industry’s highest performing processor core and Multi-core processor family driving unmatched system and performance scalability.

The superscalar XLP Processor family drives performance levels at greater than 2.0 GHz and offers a 3x performance per watt improvement over previous generation processors. RMI (now NetLogic Microsystems) ’s latest offering will bring about the most advanced and most highly integrated multi-core processor in the industry while maintaining the innovative multi-threading capabilities of RMI (now NetLogic Microsystems) ’s existing processor families. The XLP Processor family, much like the XLR® and XLS® Processors, combined with Wind River’s Platform for Network Equipment; Linux Edition and VxWorks 6.6 products will include out-of-the-box board support packages for RMI (now NetLogic Microsystems) ’s XLP Processor™. Combined with Wind River On-Chip Debugging JTAG support, these products will offer a comprehensive solution for the XLR Processor, XLS Processor™ and the XLP Processor family and are optimized for wireless, SMB, SOHO, SME and enterprise networking, wireless infrastructure and service provider OEM equipment markets.
