NETLOGIC MICROSYSTEMSMC4104 Advanced Mezzanine Card

PRODUCT BRIEF

Multi-Core XLR® 500 Processor, Quad 1 Gigabit Ethernet Platform

Product Overview
NetLogic Microsystems’ MC4104 Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) is a standards-based production-ready solution for leveraging NetLogic Microsystems’ 500 series of Multi-Core, Multi-Threaded MIPS64® XLR® processors, ideally suited for Gigabit line-rate content-aware networking applications that require deep packet inspection and manipulation.

The MC4104 is a single-wide, extended-height form factor AMC card that is fully compliant with PICMG AMC.0 with IPMI 1.5 and AMC.1 type 4/AMC.2 Type E2. The XLR 500 processor series is architected to address IP networking, VoIP, wireless LAN, 3G Wireless, broadband, storage, routing and switching, security, and telecommunication applications, and the growing need to scale OEM’s software and hardware investments. The XLR processor brings together general purpose processing, high level programming, scalability with thread processing, intelligent packet management and the ability to combine control plane, data plane and security operations on a single processor.

Based on NetLogic Microsystems’ throughput optimized Multi-Core, Multi-Threaded architecture, the XLR 532, 516, and 508 processors integrate up to 32 fine-grain threads from eight MIPS64 CPUs, three full speed on-chip interconnects, large multi-level caches, autonomous security acceleration engines, quad memory controllers, quad Gigabit Ethernet MACs, and other integrated I/Os. The MC- 4104 leverages XLR’s quad RGMII ports and PCI-X high throughput data connections to deliver an ideal gigabit line-card solution.
