NetLogic Microsystems’ Puma NLP1220 device is a dual physical layer retimer with an integrated equalization engine for 8.5Gbps data rates. The 8G EQ Engine augments the distance an 8.5G signal can travel on a PCB trace through multiple connectors. The device integrates NetLogic Microsystems’ industry-leading SerDes technology from the earlier generation of 10G PHY/SerDes devices (AEL1001 – 1006).

The NetLogic Microsystems Puma NLP1220 device provides the consolidation of the receiver and transmitter SerDes functions on a single chip along with on-chip clock drivers, multiple loop-back features and PRBS generation and verification for both the line side and the system side.
